I recently purchased an Elite Justo. However, when I ride it, it randomly
increases resistance and gets very hard to pedal suddenly. It has random
surges in resistance, and my cycling computer shows no change in the
resistance. I haven't touched anything. What is the issue?

Are you sure that you don't have any other device connected to the trainer?
Is it possible for example that you're running also an app on your smartphone?

Also, power off any wireless device in the room (other cyclecomputer, wireless sensors, bluetooth speakers...) to minimize interference.
If the problem disappear, power them on again one by one to understand which one is creating problems.
