Hello
I've recently purchased a direto and managed to upload a kml. File via the tutorial on the elite website. When I start to ride it the elevation/slope/power is very erratic. It's a route I ride often and I know the elevation does not change as often or is as erratic as when I ride the course on the me e training app on ipad. I use the training mode with no problem. Is there any specific configuration settings that I should follow when following a uploaded kml. File? Or is this a normal action of the trainer or software?
Many thanks

It is necessary to check the source file.
Please contact the customer care at [email protected] adding a short description of the problem and the kml file.

What is the best way to convert the file? I got it directly from my garmin edge 1000 and then converted it to kml. Customer services say the gps file has been recorded incorrectly could it be the conversion process? The attached screen shot is the file I used.
Thanks

Re: Riding uploaded kml. Route
Hello,
I discussed this in another subject.
Coming from Tacx, I used this feature that worked rather well, to reproduce the effort of a course already known and made with my garmin edge, but at Elite I do not use it to my regret.
The cause is simple, the conversion and especially the reduction of the number of points by Elite or Google, this degrades the source file so much that it no longer corresponds to reality
If you look closely at this file you will notice that you lose a lot of intermediate details, small bumps and descents, which make the topography of the course
For example near my home I have a slope of 12% on 100 meters then a flat of 300 meters, finally with Elite I find myself with a slope of 400m of 3%
In these conditions this feature completely loses its interest, who wants to make a fictitious course from the sky? To do a training with intervals.
I would like Elite developers to realize the delay they have with MyETraining and they try to bring us real usable features, with a nice interface and easy to use, but we can dream for a while longer. ..

Re: Riding uploaded kml. Route
I have attached another interpretation of the fore mentioned file. Elite admin could you tell me which graph would the elite software follow when using the course on the elite software?
The "Tracks_lunch Ride" is the gpx un converted version
"Lunch Ride" Is the concerted kml file.
To me they look identical.
Which graph does the software follow?

Re: Riding uploaded kml. Route
Hi guys
First of all... please, when you attach images, remember to reduce the dimensions. The discussion will be more "readable".
About the kml files, it's a bit complicated.
We noticed that often the kml files includes some anomalies that can cause some problems.
I don't know if this is your case, though. The only way to understand the situation is to analyze the kml file.
So, please contact the customer care at [email protected] adding the file and explaining the situation.
