I want to share my ongoing experience with ERG mode issues and Elite's temporary solution - emphasis on temporary.
Elite Support confirmed this is a widespread issue affecting Direto/Direto X trainers when using bike computers (Garmin, Wahoo, Bryton). The problem comes from:
1. A malfunction in MyETraining affecting a new feature in Stand Alone mode
2. Bike computers' power signal transmission frequency conflicting with this feature
Elite provided a JSON file in private, in response to my support ticket, to be uploaded through Upgrado as a temporary fix. However, I need to point out two major concerns:
First, I'm an iOS user and haven't been able to load the JSON file through Upgrado yet, so I can't even confirm if the fix works. If you're on iOS, you might face the same challenge.
Second, and more importantly, I'm disappointed that Elite didn't proactively communicate this known issue to their user base. Instead of warning users or providing documentation upfront, they've left us to discover problems during our training sessions and search for solutions on our own. I almost tossed my Direto, thinking that the hardware malfunctions.
If you're experiencing ERG mode issues, you can contact Elite Support for the JSON file. Just be aware that this is a band-aid solution while they work on a proper fix.
I'll update this thread once I manage to get the iOS implementation working - if I can get it to work at all.
Has anyone else successfully implemented the fix, especially on iOS?"

Hello.
I thought that the JSON file was only needed for Android devices.
I had the same issue and solved it changing the stand-alone settings using My-eTraining app on iOS.

As Elite Support specifically advised me, the setting is not available on iOS for the Direto, by their mistake. They sent the JSON to fix this issue "manually". (BTW I am still not able to push the JSON via Upgrado on iOS and I have no access to an Android device. Elite Support is silent on this for days. I am super mad.)
