Direto X with 8 speed cassette

Hi,
I have a road bike with a SunRace 8 speed cassette and I am thinking of buying the Direto X trainer.
I see that the specs of the Direto X say that cassettes with speeds of 9/10/11 are supported.
Can I use my 8 speed cassette with the Direto X? Even if it is using more spacers
Also another question, is SunRace compatible with the Direto X trainer?

Our trainers support officially only 9-10-11sp cassette.
That said, we know that some users have been able to mount a 8sp cassette using additional spacers and asking help to their trusted mechanics.
We cannot assure that the gear will work properly in this configuration.

About Sunrace, I confirm that it is compatible (9-10-11sp).
