I can't uodate either -the whole process just sucks. I can get to 10% but then nothing happens.
But from what I'm hearing from others about them not liking it - I'm not sure I want to update now.
I've had a catalogie of issues with my Elite XR - should have stuck with a Kicker or Tacx.......

Re: New Firmware v80
Hello, I have a direto xr-t and direto x.
With direto xr-t I have no problem with upgrade, but I can't update my direto x (latest version installed is 65),I want to update because when I stop my workout for a moment, when I start again the resistence is very high, impossible to ride. Has anyone file json, hex and zip to install manually?
Thank you

Re: New Firmware v80
Hi there!
seems like a lot of folks are not too happy with the V80 update -I am experiencing issues, too:
While the connection through Zwift's companion app (= using the iPhone as "connection proxy") works perfectly, I can't get my PC (which is my Zwift device) to connect at all. It does not even discover my Direto XR...
Has anyone seen similar issues? Does anyone have a hint for me?
(Of course, nothing changed on the PC and nonetheless, I checked the PC's Bluetooth connection with other hardware, did a reboot etc.)
Thanks a lot!

OK, tried to open a support ticket, but all I get is the only moderately useful message...
Hence, if anyone has gotten a reply from support or figure the matter out by himself, it would be great if you could share it here.
Thanks!
Ticketing service seems to be unavailable at the moment. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Seems that with the instant drop of power to 0 you now get when you stop pedalling, your speed instantly starts to slow too, and very quickly accelerates to slowing very quickly. This is not like real life where you can coast on a flat bit of road at about the same speed for a little before your speed gradually begins to drop. This is not how it used to react. The upshot of this is that you effectively don't have any flywheel effect any more. It also means you cannot really rest on a long ride any more. You used to be able to spin up a little and then coast for 5 seconds or so and still maintain at a more or less constant speed - and get a brief stretch and rest. Now if you spin up a little and then try to coast it takes about a second for your watts to drop to 0 then you instantly start to slow, meaning you then have to do a little sprint to get your speed up again. Not restful at all. I compared the new firmware and how it reacts to my bike power meter connected directly to Zwift, effectively cutting out the Direto flywheel coasting effect, and i couldn't tell the difference between using the bike power meter with Zwift and the Direto power meter and flywheel!! Very disappointed as I am a long distance specialist and need to be able to stand up and rest often. If this is not fixed soon I may have to get rid of my Direto!! I might as well have a very cheap trainer with a small or no flywheel and just use my bike power meter.
I'm just wondering if this is limited to ERG mode, or in free riding too? The news release puts the breaking under the heading of "Improved ERG Mode Brake Management", and in ERG mode should you be able to coast? If it happens in free rides too, then it sounds like a problem...
