bike chain touching the frame on direto XR

Hi,
I have a direto XR that I used in the past with a quick release 11 speeds road bike.
As I switched to a 12 speed road bike with thru axle, I got a 12 speed cassette for the direto.
I set and thightened everything.
But when I put the bike on the trainer with the chain on the small sprocket, it is touching the frame...
I did everything according to the manual and now, I strugling to understand where the issue comes from...
should I get some washer to solve this?
Is anyone that was in the same case than me and that found a solution?
Could the elite adaptor on the cassette be faulty?
