Power way too hard on intervals in ERG-mode

I have an Elite Qubo Smart Digital B. I use it with TrainerRoad and a crank power meter (4iiii Precision). Trainer is in ERG mode, PowerMatch is enabled. I run fairly constant cadence and I normally do not change gear on the bike during training.
I have a problem when running sprint intervals. The trainer seems to increase the resistance a lot more than necessary when beginning a sprint interval, and the power is way over target for the initial part of the high-power interval. On low power intervals all is fine.
Please see the power spikes on the attached photo.
Any ideals why this happens?
