cleaning the rollers on Quick Motion
Any tricks for safely cleaning the tire black off of the plastic rollers? Or do you leave the tire black as a badge of effort?

Hi
To clean it, use simply some alcohol.
We suggest to use slick and hard tires to minimize the consumption

Of course grappa!
Tried the alcohol but really doesn't remove the dark smudge. Tires are old Bontrager road tires. I think the smudges are when I roll to the edge on the front roller and the back tire slips in the rollers. Not often but enough in any one ride.
Guess with over 1400 miles on trainer, it is expected to show this badge.

Not good. Probably, you should have cleaned it after every ride.
Well, as you told before.... badge of effort!

Hi,
I also have a problem with the black building ono the roller surface.
I am using a trainer tyre though, which is supposed to have a harder compund. The black on the roller is creating an artificial surface. How do I clean it off?
Surely there has to be a way.

Hi
I’ve had the same problem.
I got my Quick Motion 2 months ago. After 30 rides there were black marks on the rollers, like you have decribed.
I am using dedicated tires for home trainer, so that should not be a case.
Tried everything: non of what was working.
I got a tip form my wife, to work with acetone free nail polish remover.
Works just fine, although it is not an easy and quick process.
Circular move is the best, but I got rid of these marks.
I also use that remover to clean off tires every 5 rides. Tires do not seem to be dirty after few rides at a first sight, but when you clean them off you will se how dirty they really are.
Hope that helps you.
Regards
Michal
