Hello
I'm having problems to configure my new Elite Direto. I have setup according to the manual but the chain of the bike makes noise and I cannot use the smallest sprockets of the cassete. When I put the original wheel in the bike, everything works perfectly. I need to say both the bike and the Elite Direto are new (my problem is only with the Direto, like something is not right alighned when I put the bike on the Direto).
Both cassetes (bike and installed on Directo's), are the same (Shimano 105 11v). I'm attaching photos of everything (I can only attach 3 photos but I have photos from the original wheel, bike on the Direto and a photo of the pieces I haven't used). The bike mounts also a q-ring as you can see
Can you help me? I'm a bit worried since I don't know what is happening. Everything seems to be installed fine.
I have sent a query using the website for the technical support but I cannot attach photos using the forms
Thanks.

Please check the cassette.
It must be well fixed, with no plays at all. If needed, you can add another spacer.
Let us know it this helped.

Re: Direto w/ 11 Speed Shimano 105
I'm having the identical issue, exactly the same cassette on bike and trainer, both brand new. Gearing works perfectly on my bike but the gearing/cassette is loud, clunky and shifts very poorly especially on the smaller sprockets.
I had the store of purchase install the cassette and even took it back the same day for them to look at it and try and help but to no avail.
Can you tell me if/how you fixed the issue?
NB- I'm using a 142 through axle.
Please help!!! I only got the trainer today and so far really disappointed I can't rely use all the gears and the noise is terrible from the gears/cassette. Too much money spent for this not be perfect from the get go.
Thanks in advance

Re: Direto w/ 11 Speed Shimano 105
I've checked again your photos with our mechanics.
Did you use the spacer provided with the cassette?
If it is so, try to remove it and let me know if the problem is solved.
As you have a 11 speed cassette, theoretically you shouldn't need any spacer (or at least use only ours and not the one provided with the cassette)

Re: Direto w/ 11 Speed Shimano 105
Hi Elite
I tried the spacer, still noisy (worse in fact), I tried 2 spacers (even worse again), I am back to no spacers and just putting up with not being able to use all the gears, very disappointing for something so expensive.
The belt then completely snapped the other day. The bike store replaced the belt. The unit is still very noisy.
I would really prefer a brand new unit, it is crazy to spend so much money on something that is supposed to be so good and yet is so bad.
I need this unit as I am currently injured but can still ride the trainer.
Please help.
Adam

Re: Direto w/ 11 Speed Shimano 105
Hi Adam and Elite,
I have the same issue. It looks like it is caused by the bending of derailleur pad when closing the skewer.
Have a look at the jockey wheels when you close the skewer and you will see the jockey wheels move inboard and this is causing the problem that you cannot reach the smallest cog.
When i put the wheel in it is normal again. Have the issue on two bikes.
Elite what is going wrong?

Is someone using a SRAM or other lockring with a Shimano Cassette? The lockrings are different thicknesses, with SRAM being the thickest.
